Sports: Congratulations to PCHS senior, Brady Laminack, who has committed to play baseball at Bevill State Community College and PCHS senior, Michael Scott Warren, on committing to Gadsden State to play tennis; and congratulations to Matt Griffith who will be the new head football coach at Victory Christian School.
The Pell City Junior team of Gabe Graham and Jesse McClain, with boat captain Daniel Graham, took home the Alabama Bass Federation 2024 Junior Team Championship on Lake Jordan Saturday, April 13. The boys qualified to advance to the TBF 2024 Junior World Championship Tournament scheduled July 23-26, on Lake Hartwell in Anderson, S.C. The boys finished 1st out of 23 boats. Congratulations!
The Pell City 7th grade boys basketball tryouts will be Monday, May 20, at Williams Intermediate School gym. Boys 8th grade basketball tryouts will be Tuesday, May 21, at Duran Jr. High gym from 3:30-5 p.m. Boys must have a current physical before trying out. Must have athletic shorts and basketball shoes.
Pell City High School Boys Basketball is putting on a Golf Scramble Tournament fundraiser on Friday, May 31 at 1 p.m. at Alpine Bay Golf Course.
There are plenty of sponsorship availabilities and spots for teams! If you are interested in sponsoring, donating or playing, contact matthouse2@yahoo.com. There will be prizes and lunch will be provided.
Schools: The Pell City High School math team participated in the Southern Union math tournament. The geometry and comprehensive teams won 2nd place and Abi Hooks scored 3rd place individually.
Local: The Pell City Car Show will be on Saturday, April 20, at Lakeside Park from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Food Trucks will be on site. Funds raised will 100% benefit the PCHS wrestling team.
The Pell City Garden Club annual sale will be Friday, April 26 1-5 p.m. and Saturday, April 27, at 9 a.m. till sold out at the Pell City Recreation Hall 405 19th Street South 35125 (Next to the Boys and Girls Club). Interested in making strawberry jam? Learn the basics of making jams and jellies and learn water bath canning. In the workshop, guests will prepare fresh strawberry jam to carry home. Red Hill Farms-Phillips Family at 5514 Stemley Bridge Road, Pell City, will host ‘Paint On The Farm’ Saturday, May 4. CEPA: The PCHS Spotlight Theater Department will present “Little Mermaid” April 25-27 at 7 p.m. and April 28 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 and $5. Teachers are free with ID.

Here’s a delicious and easy cookie recipe and you probably have all the ingredients already – Chocolate Peanut Butter No-Bake Cookies.
Ingredients: 3 cups oats, ½ cup crunchy peanut butter, 1 tbsp vanilla extract, 2 cups white sugar, 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder, ½ cup milk, ½ cup butter.
• Bring cocoa, sugar, milk and butter to boil over medium heat (slowly) and boil for 60 seconds.
• Remove from heat, add oats, peanut butter and vanilla and mix well.
• Allow to cool for 1 minute. Drop teaspoonfuls onto wax paper.
