Congratulations is also in order for Jon Ford with Leeds Fire Department in his promotion from Firefighter to Apparatus Operator.  Chief Chuck Parsons along with Safety Consultant Jim Atkinson conducted a pinning and recognition at the city council meeting this week.  Way to go, Jon!

The Teacher of the Year award was presented to Leeds High School teacher, Kyoung Cox, by the Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Goodwyn, Mills & Cawood.  Kj, as she is known by, is an AP Calculus teacher who, for the past two years, led 100% of her students to receive qualifying scores on AP Calculus exams.  Every single student she has taught will receive college credit.  Way to go and congratulations, Ms. Cox, for a job well done!

Alabama football player will sign autographs at Radical Divas Consignment Shop in Moody this Saturday, Aug. 25 at 11 a.m.  Come meet former Alabama football player #32 Prince Wimbley, Captain and starting receiver of the 1992 National Championship team for the University of Alabama. He will be autographing 8×10 action shots for $10.  Flavored shaved ice will be available and shopping at the boutique will be 50% off. Come find those new fall trends.

Moody City Council meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 27 at Moody City Hall.

The Moody Area Chamber of Commerce high school Ambassadors will tour the Red Barn on Tuesday, Aug. 28 at 10 a.m.

Aug. 30 will be the last day for the Leeds Farmers Market for this summer season.
