Springville Police Sergeant, Wayne Walton, along with other St Clair County and local city police officers participated in the Memorial Services honoring fallen Birmingham City Police Officer, Sgt. Wytasha Carter on January 19.

Students at Springville Elementary School celebrated the 100th day of school on January 25.

The Springville High School Wrestling Team competed in the St Clair County High School Wrestling Tournament on January 21 and three wrestlers won their weight group and made the All-County Team.

Springville Elementary crowned Little Mr. & Miss Springville 2019, Casey Allen and Sara Kate Windle on January 19.

Kindergarten Roundup will be the morning of March 21 at SES. This is an opportunity for upcoming kindergartners and their parents to meet the teachers and staff at SES. Details will be forthcoming soon.

The Springville 7th Grade Boys, JV Boys, Varsity Boys, JV Girls and Varsity Girls won the St. Clair Basketball Tournament on January 21 and  22, sweeping the event for Springville Teams.

The Springville Preservation Society is now taking reservations for use of the historic “Little House” located adjacent to the Police Department for events or meetings. Rates are $25 for 2 hours, $50 for four hours and $100 per day. Contact Sara Trotter or reservations at 205-467-3000.

Springville Police Department is presenting a Firearms Safety course, which is open to the public. The course includes two hour classroom training and two hours actual training on the firing range by two certified NRA instructors. You may sign up by calling Lauri Jones at 205-467-6133. The Springville Civil Air Patrol meets every Tuesday from 6 – 8:30 p.m. at the National Guard Armory. The age requirement is 12-18 years of age and adults may also join as senior members. Cadets learn leadership skills, aerospace, character development, as well as team work and piloting skills.
