Nichol’s Nook hosted a book signing event with author and Springville native, Joshua Beason on Saturday, November 17 for his children’s book, “The Adventures of Tobey Turtle.”
The Springville Civil Air Patrol, AL126 participated in Cyberpatriot training at the Springville Museum on Nov 18. SSG Cook (ANG) and Cadets C/2nd Lt Wilson, C/CMSgt Kalysta Young and C/A1C Dornon.

La Cabanita opened on November 20 in the former Del Sol location. The Springville Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony and then enjoyed a meal from the new restaurant.
The Springville Public Library hosts Preschool Storytime every Thursday at 10:30 a.m. December 13 at 10:30 a.m. will host a special storytime with Santa and Mrs.Claus.
The Springville Middle School Spelling Bee will be held December 5 at the school.
The Springville High School Pancakes with Santa Breakfast will be held, December 8 at the Springville First UMC from 7:30-11 a.m. All proceeds will benefit the SHS Tiger Band.

- Sunrise Walking Group. They meet on Fridays at the bridge at Big Springs Park at 9:30 a.m.

Friday, December 7, Springville Pediatrics will be hosting a Movie Night! Come dressed in your pajamas and watch Christmas movies. Popcorn will be served.
December 7 is also the deadline for Toys for Tots. Between now and then bring a new, unopened toy for donation and be entered in the TV Giveaway.

The Springville Preservation Society is now taking reservations for use of the historic “Little House” located adjacent to the Police Department for events or meetings. Rates are $25 for 2 hours, $50 for four hours and $100 per day. Contact Sara Trotter or reservations at 205-467-3000.

Springville Police Department is presenting a Firearms Safety course, which is open to the public. The course includes two hour classroom training and two hours actual training on the firing range by two certified NRA instructors. You may sign up by calling Lauri Jones at 205-467-6133. The Springville Civil Air Patrol meets every Tuesday from 6 – 8:30 p.m. at the National Guard Armory. The age requirement is 12-18 years of age and adults may also join as senior members. Cadets learn leadership skills, aerospace, character development, as well as team work and piloting skills.
