The City of Leeds and the Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce cut the ribbon at the new China Wok on Friday in the Leeds Commons Shopping Center. We had the opportunity to meet the owner, Wan Fulin and his son, Nian and daughter, Amy. I also met Brooke Daniel and her husband, Daniel. Brooke works at the restaurant and Daniel is a Geology Professor at Jacksonville State University. Everyone who attended the ribbon cutting had the opportunity to sample some of the wonderful food. The restaurant opened on Sept. 24 which is the Moon Festival Day in China. They have already been well received. Be sure to stop in soon!
Downtown Leeds was very festive Friday afternoon as the homecoming tailgating commenced prior to the parade. The storefronts were decorated and the street was blocked off next to the library for food trucks and those who wanted to watch the parade from that position. It proved to be a wonderful afternoon.

This service is sponsored by Mills Pharmacy and Aletheia House in an effort to get narcotics off the street.
