September 17-23 is Constitution Week in Alabama and the ladies of the Broken Arrow Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) celebrated by educating students at Victory Christian School about the historic event.

Members presented information to students on Monday, Sept. 17, which marks the 231st anniversary of the adoption of the United States Constitution.

“This important document is one that we hold so dear as Americans.  Written by our Founding Fathers, this blueprint for our country should be celebrated,” Congressman Mike Rogers said in a release.  “As a member of the U.S. Congress, it is my duty to uphold and defend our Constitution and I will always fight to defend it and continue to uphold what’s written in it.”

Gov. Kay Ivey signed a proclamation naming Sept. 17-23 Constitution Week in Alabama, stating “ I encourage all citizens to recognize and appreciate the importance of this enduring document to our nation and reaffirm our commitment to the rights and responsibilities of citizenship in this great nation.”
