Springville Public Library hosted Princess Belle with The Enchanted Princesses for Story Time last week.

The Springville Civil Air Patrol presented colors for the VFW Fourth of July Ceremony at Big Springs Park.

Congratulations to the Springville Boys 7U Dizzy Dean All-Stars for placing 7th at State.

The Springville Area Chamber of Commerce and the City of Springville will host SpringFest 2018 will be held Saturday, August 11, starting at 2 p.m.

Fall Ball Registration for Springville Youth Association Softball and baseball will be held online from July 2 through August 3 at www.quickscores.com. In-person registration will be held at the Ballpark Concession Stand on August 4.

The old Springville Rock School restoration project is underway with the replacing of the front entrance canopy to resemble its original state almost 100 years ago.

Springville Elementary Kindergarten Camp will be July 24 – 26 from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Contact SES for more info.

The Springville Farmers Market is open every weekend at its new location, adjacent to Big Springs Park.

Springville Elementary School is hosting a Back to School Bash and Food Truck Rally on August 25 at 4 p.m.

• The.Springville Public Library will host a Back to School Reading Readiness Review at 10:30 a.m. for two dates on July 25 and July 26.

• Story Time with Moana, Wednesday, July 18 at 10:30 a.m.

• Summer Reading Finale, Thursday, July 19 at 11 a.m.

Springville Senior Center 

• The Springville Senior Center has quilting classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. 

• The Springville Senior Center offers a Sunrise Walking Group. They meet on Fridays at the bridge at Big Springs Park at 9:30 a.m.

• The Springville Senior Center offers Beginner Computer Classes. Classes are every Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at the Springville Public Library. All seniors are welcome.  Register in the Main Library or call 205-467-2339.

The Springville Preservation Society is now taking reservations for use of the historic “Little House” located adjacent to the Police Department for events or meetings. Rates are $25 for 2 hours, $50 for four hours and $100 per day. Contact Sara Trotter or reservations at 205-467-3000.

Springville Police Department is presenting a Firearms Safety course, which is open to the public. The course includes 2 hour classroom training and 2 hours actual training on the firing range by two certified NRA instructors. You may sign up by calling Lauri Jones at 205-467-6133. The Springville Civil Air Patrol meets every Tuesday from 6 – 8:30 p.m. at the National Guard Armory. The age requirement is 12-18 years of age and adults may also join as senior members. Cadets learn leadership skills, aerospace, character development, as well as team work and piloting skills.
