The Springville Chapter AL-126 of the Civil Air Patrol trained at the Bessemer Squadron on how to marshal  aircraft and train for O-flights.

The Springville Farmers Market is open every weekend at its new location adjacent to Big Springs Park.

Springville Library Happenings:

 

  • Story Time with Ann Dorerwill be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.at the Springville Library.
  • The Library will feature “Miss Kit’s Bubble School” for Summer Reading Thursday at  11 a.m. on June 14.
  • June 14 the Library will host the Harry Potter Club for Teenson Thursday at 5 p.m..
  • The Library wil host a Knit & Crochet, Lunch and Learn on June 15.
  • The Springville Public Library will host a  Back to School Reading Readiness Review at 10:30 a.m.. for two dates on July 25 and July 26.

Clearbranch UMC is hosting AMPED! Live Fully Aliveon June 11 – June 15 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 8051 Glenn Road, Trussville. Open to children 4K – 5th grade. Contact clearbranch.org for more information.

Reeves Grove Baptist will host Shipwrecked VBS on June 11-15 from 6 – 8:30 p.m. 

VBS 2018: CROSStraining hosted by Springville Methodist Children’s Ministry will be held June 18 – 21 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Springville First UMC, 6471 US Highway 11, Springville. Contact https://www.springvilleumc.com/ for more information.

FlowChurch in Ashville will host Once Upon A Time Kid Blitz VBS 2018on July 11 – 13 with two services each night at 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Register at http://www.flow.church

July 15-19, CrossKids at Cross Point will host SMASH from 6 – 8:30 p.m. Contact  http://www.crosskids.info for more information. SMASH is a fun-filled free week of Bible study, worship, and activities of your child’s choice. This is for all children who will complete 4K-5th grade this school year. Spots for the various activities are limited, so sign your child up soon!

The Springville Preservation Society is now taking reservations for use of the historic “Little House” located adjacent to the Police Department for events or meetings. Rates are $25 for two hours, $50 for four hours and $100 per day. Contact Sara Trotter or reservations at 205-467-3000. 

The Springville Senior Center offers a Sunrise Walking Group. They meet on Fridays at the bridge at Big Springs Park at 9:30 a.m. 

The Springville Senior Center offers Beginner Computer Classes. Classes are every Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at the Springville Public Library. All seniors are welcome.  Register in the Main Library or call 205-467-2339.

Christ Community Church is offering monthly “Art Days” for kids ages 6-12, for $5. Register at art.springville.info

The Church at Bradford Road is offering a Divorce Support Group for Children every Tuesday from 6-8 p.m.. Contact 205-467-7376. 

Springville Police Department is presenting a Firearms Safety course which is open to the public. The course includes two hour classroom training and two hours actual training on the firing range by two certified NRA instructors. You may sign up by calling Lauri Jones at 205-467-6133. The next class will be posted soon.

The Springville Civil Air Patrol meets every Tuesday from 6 – 8:30 p.m. at the National Guard Armory. The age requirement is 12-18 years of age and adults may also join as senior members. Cadets learn leadership skills, aerospace, character development, as well as team work and piloting skills.
