The Hot Rod Power Tour 2018, hosted by Hot Rod Magazine, caused some excitement in the area on Monday.  This group of hot rods, estimated to be in the thousands, took a seven day, seven city journey from Bowling Green, Kentucky to Concord, North Carolina.  Monday morning, this group left Chattanooga heading to Hoover Metropolitan Stadium and traveled in our area south on Hwy. 411 from Ashville to Leeds, then down Hwy 119 to Hwy 280 as part of their road trip.  Local car enthusiasts camped out during the day with their tents, chairs and sometimes their own antique automobiles to watch the caravan of cars and trucks traveling through.  Some of these enthusiasts included Paul Perry with Alfa Insurance in Moody who set up his tent and invited others to participate.  Spectators also included local Leeds residents who set up their chairs on street corners to watch.  The road tour cars were cheered on as they trickled down our local highways most of the day.
