The Springville Preservation Society hosted its annual Spring Luncheon and Fashion Show on Wednesday, April 18. The entertainers were Sylvia Buttram Waid, Peggy Hodges Jones, Merle Galbreath Buttram, Chip Vann and Frank Waid.

Springville High School honored the 12th grade Soccer players for Senior Night on April 12.
The American Girl Club at the Springville Library crafted puppies that will be trained as Service Dogs from the book, “Nicki, An American Girl.”
The Springville High School Lady Tigers Softball team will compete for the AHSAA 5A Area Tournament on May 3 and 4 as they defend their State Championship Title.
This past weekend the 10U Odenville Thunder won first place in the Children Playing for Children’s Hospital tournament. They won first place in the gold bracket. The tournament was a benefit tournament for Children’s Hospital.
The Springville Farmers Market will celebrate its opening day with it’s new location, adjacent to Big Springs Park on May 5.
Springville Elementary School is hosting its “1st Annual Spring Fling & Food Truck Rally” on Saturday, May 5 from 2 – 8 p.m. with live music, kids activities and local vendors. $3 donation at the gate.

The historic Laster’s Sundries on Main Street in Springville re-opened on Wednesday, April 4. Their hours are daily from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. serving 58 flavors of ice cream, including low sugar, dairy free and nut free.
The Springville Public Library book for April’s meeting of the Book Club will be “Carrying Albert Home” by Homer Hickam. They meet on the second Friday of each month at 10 a.m.

The Springville Preservation Society is now taking reservations for use of the historic “Little House” located adjacent to the Police Department for events or meetings. Rates are $25 for 2 hours, $50 for four hours and $100 per day. Contact Sara Trotter or reservations at 205-467-3000.
The Springville Preservation Society will host “Murder Mystery Dinner Theater” on May 5. Tickets for dinner and the show are $25 and can be purchased at the Springville Museum.
The Springville Preservation Society will host Guided Walking Tours Through Downtown Springvilleevery Saturday in April from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m.
The Springville Senior Center offers a Sunrise Walking Group. They meet on Fridays at the bridge at Big Springs Park at 9:30 a.m.
The Springville Senior Center offers Beginner Computer Classes. Classes are every Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at the Springville Public Library. All seniors are welcome. Register in the Main Library or call 205-467-2339.

Springville Police Department is presenting a Firearms Safety course which is open to the public. The course includes 2 hour classroom training and 2 hours actual training on the firing range by two certified NRA instructors. You may sign up by calling Lauri Jones at 205-467-6133. The Springville Civil Air Patrol meets every Tuesday from 6 – 8:30 p.m. at the National Guard Armory. The age requirement is 12-18 years of age and adults may also join as senior members. Cadets learn leadership skills, aerospace, character development, as well as team work and piloting skills.
