It’s Spring Break in these here parts, just not a lot of Spring in the air unless you count the 20 tons of pollen floating around, coating everything in yellow and creating allergy havoc. I can’t remember when I have sneezed so much in my entire life. Ah-choo!

Prom for Juniors and Seniors will be April 27. Due to tornado damage, Graduation has been moved from Jacksonville State to The Church at Brookhills on May 15 at 7 p.m. 

Odenville Youth Athletic Association (OYAA) NEWS

OYAA is on a winning streak in pre-season tournaments. Congratulations to the following OYAA teams:

OYAA 12U Saints (Coach Craig Avant) on their Runner-Up finish in the OYAA Pre-Season Tournament. Great job boys and coaches!

The OYAA 6U-White (Coach Mark Wood) on their First Place finish in the OYAA Pre-Season Tournament! That’s their third tournament in a row to come in First Place! Great job boys and coaches! 

Softball

OYAA 6U- Kirk on winning the Championship in the Moody Pre-Season Tournament! Great job girls and coaches!

The OYAA 10U Saints Softball (Coach Jerry Rewis) First Place and the OYAA 10U Thunder-Nolen Runner Up in the Moody Pre-Season Softball Tournament! 

OYAA Baseball and Softball Opening Day festivities for regular season will be held this Saturday starting at 8 a.m.  

OYAA CHEER REGISTRATIONS will be held at OYAA field house, 1155 Tucker Road, Odenville, on Saturdays, April 7, 14, and 21 from 8am until 11 a.m, Wednesdays April 11,18, 25 and May 2.

Local Events

The Greater Odenville Chamber of Commerce luncheon will be Monday April 2 at 11:30 a.m. at the Odenville Presbyterian Church. Guest speaker will be Pastor Jacky Connell of Eden Westside Baptist Church. Cost is $10 with reservation, $12 without reservation. To RSVP go to odenvillechamber.com.
