Ragland man arrested for attempting to elude

A 25-year old man from Ragland is in custody after attempting to elude officers early today.

The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office was attempting to serve a felony warrant at 38 Ivy Dive in Ragland when the suspect, Aaron Glenn Swafford, 25 of Ragland, fled the scene and a pursuit began.
The St. Clair Correctional dog team, Pell City Police Department and Ashville Police Department assisted the Sheriff’s Office in apprehending Swafford.
Swafford is in the St. Clair County Jail in Pell City with no bond for failure to appear warrants for trafficking methamphetamine and theft of property, third degree, and a new charge of attempting to elude.
