Alabama Department of Transportation plans to close the bridge located on US 11 (over Mulkleroy Creek) north of Springville at Milepost 173.35 to Milepost 173.63. The closures are necessary for constructing the bridge replacement.

The project is .382 miles in length and is expected to be closed for approximately one year. Traffic will be detoured from US 11 in Springville to AL 23 to I-59 North to the US 231 exit on I-59.

Following completion of work in the northbound direction, work will continue in the southbound direction in a similar manner.

Motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area.

ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this Construction Operation to improve Alabama’s roadways.
