PCPD receives more than 2,400 calls in July

According to Chief of Police Greg Turley, Pell City Police Department received 2,411 calls in July, resulting in the preparation of 49 arrest reports, 166 incident/offense and supplement reports, and 38 traffic accident reports. Detectives were assigned 113 new cases that consisted of 71 misdemeanors and 42 felonies. In addition there were 69 cases that were closed or marked inactive.
The Department also seized several items during the month, including six marijuana pipes, one marijuana grinder, one bag of marijuana, two handguns and six containers of prescription painkillers.
