Springville Historic Walking Tours every Saturday in April

People have been visiting Springville since the mid-1810s and the Springville Preservation Society invite the public to come walk in the footsteps of those early settlers and learn more about the rich history of the area initially known as “Big Springs.”

The Springville Preservation Society will be giving walking tours of downtown Springville each Saturday in April as part of the Alabama Tourism Departments’ April Walking Tours.

The tours begin at the Springville Museum and run continuously from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and are free of charge.

Sean Andrews, Springville Preservation Society volunteer tour guide, tells history of 90-year old Laster Sundries, which is one of the many historic businesses and homes on Main Street in Springville.

Tour guides will share stories of unique occurrences that happened in days gone by along with the history of places and people of this historic town. For more information call 205-837-2586
