Area students recognized for college excellence

More than 144 students have been named to the Lawson State Community College President’s List for the Fall 2024 term. President’s List Scholars attained a grade point average of 4.0, consisting of a minimum course load of no fewer than 12 semester hours of college-level courses or above. St. Clair County residents making the list include: Alston Abts of Moody, Brian Brown of Ashville, Luke Jones of Springville, Mtesia Oneal of Riverside and Makayla Truss of Moody.
The University of West Alabama has announced more than 400 undergraduate students named to the President’s List for the Fall 2024 academic semester. The President’s List gives recognition to undergraduate students with exceptionally high grades for the semester, those with grade-point averages of 3.80 or higher, completing at least twelve semester credit hours, with no grade lower than a “C.” St. Clair County residents making the list include: Jabe Burgess of Ashville (Technology), Stephanie McDaniel of Odenville (Elementary Education), Madelyn Brasher of Pell City (Integrated Marketing Communications), Benjamin Sailors of Pell City (History), Candace Tucker of Pell City (General Science (Teacher Certification)), Ariel Baethke of Springville (Special Education) and William Goolsby of Springville (Health Sciences Comprehensive).
Students named to the Dean’s List include: Leah Cook of Ashville (Psychology), Colton Gallups of Pell City (Interdisciplinary Studies), Anna Moody of Pell City (Biology), Jessica Pope of Pell City (Special Education), Jessica Smith of Pell City (Early Childhood/Elementary Education) and Caroline Daniel of Springville (Early Childhood/Elementary Education).
Students named to the Dean’s List have a grade-point averages between 3.25 and 3.79, completing at least twelve semester credit hours, with no grade lower than a “C.”
