- City of Leeds Announces 2025 Paving Project
The city of Leeds’ 2025 paving projects are underway. This year’s resurfacing initiative will cover approximately 20 full or partial streets, with a total capital expenditure of $1.1 million and utilizing more than 7 tons of asphalt.
The paving projects include:

— Laura Street
— Edwards Street – ALL
— Jackson Avenue to Railroad
— Alabama – ALL
— Washington – ALL
— Charles Barkley – ALL
— Michigan Street
— Illinois Street
— Cogbill Street
— Leaf Avenue
— Intersection Ivy/Vine
— Whittiker Place
— Intersection Bethel/Veasy
— Veasey Avenue
— Cedar Springs Circle
— Louis Street
— Margaret Street
— Railroad Avenue
— Parkway Alley
According to a press release from the city, the total investment for the combined projects is $1,128,995.
Mayor David Miller emphasized the importance of this project, stating,
“We are proud to acknowledge that our administration has paved more miles of roadway than any in Leeds’ history. Investing in our infrastructure is essential to keeping Leeds a thriving and accessible community,” Mayor David Miller said in a press release. “These improvements will enhance road conditions and safety for all residents and we appreciate everyone’s patience as we complete this necessary work.”
Motorists are urged to proceed with patience and caution in these areas as city workers carry out these improvements. Traffic delays may occur and residents should plan accordingly.
