What’s Up In Odenville

A few weeks ago I declared that I was going to get healthier; eat better, exercise, and just take all around better care of myself. Well…that has yet to happen. My intentions are still good, however I will just have to take baby steps. Or crawl. Or lay on my back, flail my arms and cry. Whatever works.

Lets get to the news:

The Jeremy Ragsdale Wrestling Tournament was held this past weekend at SCCHS. Participating schools were: Alexandria, American Christian Academy, Arab, Ashville, Deshler, East Limestone, Huntsville, Leeds, Madison County, Mae Jemison, Montgomery Catholic Prep School, Muscle Shoals, Northridge, Ohatchee, St. Clair County, Shades Valley, St. John Paul, Susan Moore, Westminster, and Woodlawn.

SCCHS had two that placed: Max Miller placed 2nd in the 138 weight class and Skylar Mizzell places 1st in the 222 weight class. Top three schools Huntsville – 1st Place, Alexandria – 2nd Pace, Madison County – 3rd Place. SCCHS place 9th overall.

St Clair County native Maj. John Beck was chosen to be a military assistant for the inaugural pep rally concert last Thursday night. Beck, now 40, graduated from St. Clair County High School and joined the Army Reserve in 1994. Beck currently resides in Margaret. What an amazing accomplishment! You have made St Clair County proud!

Softball and Baseball Signups this Saturday thru February 11th ONLY ON SATURDAYS from 10-12 at the (OYAA) field house. Price of registration for softball and baseball ages 5-12 is $160.00 CapBall ages 3-4 is $100.00.
