Downtown Pell City will host its first Fourth Friday event tomorrow on Cogswell Avenue. The Pell City Chamber of Commerce is the event’s sponsor.
“Fourth Friday is a new thing we are starting to hopefully bring some attention to our downtown, as well as provide something fun for the community,” said Erica Grieve, the chamber’s executive director.
According to Grieve, the event will have a drive-in car show at the courthouse parking lot as well as vendors that will be set up on 19th Street. Many downtown stores have plans to stay open after hours to provide specials, sales and refreshments.
Also included in Friday night’s events is a scavenger hunt sponsored by participating stores. At the end, each completed form will be entered into a drawing for what organizers have described as “a large prize.”
Local artists will provide entertainment for the event. The performers include One Eyed Mary, Todd Baker Duo, Pell City Line Dancers, Carson Bruce & Ryan Ollard, Jamison Taylor and Becky Couey & Kelvin Benion.
Admission to Fourth Friday is free. Streets will be blocked starting at 5 p.m. and ending at 8 p.m. The public is invited to come and enjoy festivities.
