A live orchestral performance can be one of the most moving moments of a person’s life. And this fall, it’s coming to Pell City.
Join the Pell City Center for Education and the Performing Arts (CEPA) on Sept. 27 for an inspiring symphonic performance as we host the Alabama Symphony Orchestra (ASO) for “A Night at the Symphony.” The event welcomes the state’s premier orchestral performers, led by Conductor Christopher Confessore for one night only.
Tickets go on sale Monday, August 1 at 10 a.m. Cost is $20 for Reserved Seating, and VIP Tickets that include access to a private reception before the event are only $40. Not only will your VIP purchase make the evening even more memorable, but you’ll be supporting CEPA’s efforts to continue to bring top-tier cultural programming to the city. Buy yours by visiting pellcitycepa.com or calling our Ticket Hotline at (256) 358-7546.
The symphonic experience is one meant to stir the soul through live performance, with musicians producing in unison, playing the piece as if for only you. Keep in mind, the extraordinarily talented ASO musicians as they play on stage enjoy your presence as much as you’ll enjoy theirs. As an audience member, you are as important as the musicians on stage. Without you, there’d be no music.
A large number of the symphonies written, classics to contemporary, tell a story. The music played by the symphony is there to make you feel emotion, capture a mood, challenge the mind, paint a scene, transcend and transport you to another world.
Live classical music is a visual treat as well. Watch the conductor wave his baton, evoking the movement of the piece. See the musicians on stage flowing, working as one, creating aural magic before you. A symphony performance is an experience for your mind, body and soul.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the main show begins at 7 p.m.

About the ASO
The formation of the Alabama Symphony Orchestra (ASO) began with the first performance by a group of volunteer musicians in 1921. That group would evolve from a volunteer ensemble to the state’s only full-time professional orchestra.
Today, the ASO is continuing to make music and provide vital services to the residents of the state, serving nearly 100,000 individuals a year through concert series, youth programs, and educational and community engagement efforts to fulfill its mission to change lives through music.
The ASO partners with more than 50 other arts, community and educational organizations throughout Alabama to better serve the community. The ASO influences a large and diverse audience through more than 20 free community engagement performances, a statewide tour and education programs, which serve more than 30,000 children.
In addition to enhancing the cultural offerings of the community, the ASO has an $18.2 million positive impact on the state’s economy, according to a recent study by Americans for the Arts.
