The Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce is encouraging shoppers to support local businesses with two major holiday campaigns.

During the Leeds Blue Light Weekend, Dec.13-15, participating businesses across Leeds will be offering exclusive deals and family-friendly events to entertain holiday shoppers. Festivities kick off Friday, Dec. 13, in Downtown Leeds with a Christmas parade and Mistletoe on Main event.

Blue Light Weekend, established in 2007 by Tena Payne, owner of Earthborn Studios and Earthborn Pottery, began as a destination shopping event. It has evolved into a city-wide tradition, attracting thousands of visitors.

Also, through Dec. 25, the Shop Local and Win campaign will offer shoppers the opportunity to earn points for every purchase made with Leeds businesses in the city of Leeds. Shoppers can submit receipts to the Leeds chamber for a chance to win prizes donated by chamber members.

Also, be on the lookout forĀ  Breezy, the Holiday Shopper Elf around Leeds’ retailers, restaurants and small businesses to raise awareness of reasons to shop local.
