The North team won the first game 6-3 and Church’s home run resulted in a 3-3 tie in the second. Springville’s McKinley Tribble was the winning pitcher of the first game, striking out five batters and allowing one hit in two innings. Meagan Young of Moody hit 1-2 in the opener.
In the girls’ all-star soccer game Tuesday, Katie Compton of Pell City attempted one goal for the North team, which won 2-1 on a late second half goal scored shortly before the game was called due to inclement weather.
