Alabama Center for Health Statistics announces location change for vital record issuance in Montgomery

Effective Oct. 1, the Alabama Department of Public Health, Center for Health Statistics will no longer accept in-person requests for regular certified copies of Alabama vital records at the RSA Tower location in Montgomery. Walk-in requests for regular certified copies of birth, death, marriage and divorce certificates will continue to be accepted at the Montgomery County Health Department, 3060 Mobile Highway.

Customers can obtain copies of most vital records that occurred in Alabama from any county health department in Alabama, usually in 30 minutes or less. Vital records may also be requested online or through the mail.

In-person requests to change, correct or register Alabama birth and death certificates will still be accepted at the RSA Tower location by appointment only. Customers must contact their assigned staff representative or the Special Services Division at 334-206-2637 to schedule an appointment.
