Ragland Face Appalachian Friday

Ragland will face their toughest opponent yet Friday when they visit Appalachian. The Eagles have only lost once this year and that was to county rival, Victory Christian.

Last week the Purple Devils failed to score, but held the Conquerors to 14 points, they scored once in the second and then once in the third.

The Purple Devils kept things close if you don’t count Coosa’s 70-yard, breakaway touchdown at the end of the third. They had 100 rushing yards on 33 carries to Coosa’s 127 off 39 carries (again, not counting the TD run.)

Eighth-grade sensation Keyshawn Killings had 40 yards passing on three throws. Coosa’s Colby Helms, who had 42 yards on four completions

Ragland also held its own receiving, picking up 40 yards to Coosa’s 56. Jeffery Smith had 26 yards on one catch, Caleb Crews had an eight yard reception and Colton Echols had a six-yarder.

On defense, Nicholas Daniels, Cole Bearden and Jeffery Smith each had four tackles on their own merit and Devan Brewster had three.
