Ragland’s Mintz Talks Spring Garden, Playoffs

Ragland head coach Brian Mintz said that his team will have to make sure they bring their A-game into this year’s playoffs when they face Spring Garden Friday at home.

“Spring Garden’s got a good team,” he said. “They’ve got several good running backs and they play hard. They really get after you on defense, too. They had a big win last weekend. They were No. 4 in the state going into that game and they ruined an undefeated season for the other team. They’ve got a positive momentum going into this game.”

He said that the Purple Devils are ready to fight it out until the clock buzzes tomorrow.

“We’re gonna do what we do best,” Mintz said. “We’ll try to run the ball and throw when we need to. Hopefully we can have some success and defend what comes our way. Like most games, I think it’ll come down to not having penalties and turnovers. As I’ve said many times before, there are usually more games lost then won at this point in it all. Any time you can take the shift and put it in your favor, then you’ll be able to benefit from that.”
