What’s Up in Odenville

Christmas is literally just around the corner. You now have four shopping days to get your list complete and presents wrapped. We are slow getting it done this year because we have had so much going on the shopping opportunities have been few. While doing a little shopping a few days ago, my husband and I realized that our kids really have no interest in opening gifts. They would rather have an envelope with money and gift cards and be done with the whole thing.
Not on my watch. This is about ME and the joy it brings me to watch them open the gifts with anticipation. So, I’m forcing them have presents to open because these precious angels of mine are not going to steal my Christmas joy – and they are going to LIKE it.
Let’s get to the news.
Congrats to Mike Howard on being formally sworn in as Superintendent of Saint Clair County Board of Education this past Monday. All BOE members as well as Jenny Seals was on hand to welcome Mike on board. Mike will leave his position as the principal of SCCHS and turn the reins over to Brandon Taylor, who has been the assistant principal at SCCHS. Janet Farmer Bloomston will take over as assistant principal duties in January. We are so happy for all of you and wish you much success in your new positions.
The Saints Wrestling Team competed in two tournaments this past weekend. Individual high school winners from the Austin Hamer Invitational: Skylar Mizzell – first palce, Jimmy Joiner – second place and Ethan Scrivner – third place. Individual winners from the Middle School Centerpoint Invitational: Brody Mizzell – first place, Logan Samples – second place and Kaden Robertson – third place. Congrats guys!
