Pell City News
Hello everyone. Welcome to spring and allergy season. I, myself, have allergies and I can sympathize with you. According to an article found in a medical journal, many of us wait too long to start our medication, and we are so miserable that it is almost impossible for the drugs to work. It is best to start taking our medicine before the air is full of pollen. And as always, check with your doctor first.
And for all of you students, have a safe and fun Spring Break, next week.
Thought for today: God’s favor will cause you to be at the right place at the right time, giving you good success. So be conscious of His favor on you today! (Joseph Prince)

Last week, my daughter, Annette and I, paid a visit to my long-time friend, Sarah Bain. We had a wonderful time with her as she shared her memories and many pictures of grandson, Zachary Mason. Sarah, an active member of a writers’ group, has written several articles about Zachary. For the next few columns, I plan to share some of her memories. Zachary was born to Melinda Pierce and Randy Mason. He was especially close to his brother, Austin. As many of you know, Zachary was a huge presence in the lives of many Pell Citians. He loved God, family, music, elephants, and wrestling, in that order-at least the first three. I’m not so sure which he loved more, elephants or wrestling, but all played important parts in his life. Immediately after birth, Zachary went through multiple surgeries, but he was a survivor and survived the surgeries and many serious medical issues. All this time, he had many people praying for him, but none any more than his Mawmaw. Sarah knew that God didn’t make mistakes, as she prayed that God would accomplish His purpose in Zachary’s life. Her specific prayer was “that God would use Zachary to bless the lives of others and that others would be a blessing to him.” And God did just that. Zachary touched many lives, including his family and others that knew him. He was not shy about telling you that Jesus lived in his heart and that ministered to others. Zack felt most secure with consistency, when he knew exactly what was going to happen next. He was comfortable at home with Dad, at Mom’s, at school, and of course, at Mawmaw’s. There was a routine for each and each was a safe place for him. Sarah says, “Combining them all resulted on one beautiful life that left its imprint on each one of us.” Zachary left an imprint on many lives. Next column, I will share more about his life and his legacy.
Remember: You are not a mistake or an accident. God says that you are fearfully and wonderfully made (see Ps 139:13–14). You are precious to Him! (Joseph Prince)
