Week 5: Pell City highlights and previews

Benjamin Russell 42 Pell City 17

Benjamin Russell quarterback Tyre Grey turned out to be a read-option nightmare for the Panthers, scoring four touchdowns on quarterback keepers from 5, 12, 28 and 70 yards out. Grey added a fifth touchdown through the air in a 28 yard strike to Cole Grogan. This is the second consecutive week Pell City has surrendered more than 40 points as they pivot toward the second half of their regional schedule.

Week Five Preview @ Huffman (1-3)

The Vikings have fielded a solid defense this year featuring FBS college prospects in Senior safety D’Marcus Harris and Senior defensive tackle Kurtis Beaman, whose claim to fame was being named First-Team All-State as a freshman three seasons ago. Offensively, Huffman is very young and has managed to average less than 10 points scoring per game. Pell City should have little trouble containing the Vikings only consistent offensive weapon in junior running back Jacoby Johnson(#6).
