Week 2: St. Clair County Saints vs. Lincoln

St. Clair County Saints ›› Next: Lincoln ›› Last: St. Clair 39, John Carroll 15

St. Clair County Fighting Saints running back Anthony Byrd bulled through and past John Carroll’s defense, scoring three touchdowns, including big scoring runs of 42 and 64 yards as the Saints controlled the Cavaliers throughout their 39-15 victory.

Saints quarterback Tyler Mickens thrilled the team’s fans with a 65-yard touchdown strike to senior receiver Grayson Beaty, while sprinting for another Saints touchdown in the form of a 15-yard quarterback draw as he led his team to a non-region victory last Friday.

Week 2 Preview: St. Clair Co. vs. Lincoln

The Golden Bears showed that they are a team that has problems stopping offenses, evidenced by the 400-plus yards Lincoln yielded to Pell City last season. Considering how effective St. Clair County’s offense appeared last Friday, the Fighting Saints should be looking to get into an offensive rhythm this Friday, while getting after Lincoln’s quarterback Zay Caldwell, who sustained a few long scoring drives in the second half of last week’s loss.
