Twice Blessed Boutique and Consignment celebrates opening

When Kim Isbell imagined what her life would be like after her mother got sick and she left her job after 10 years at St. Clair County Headstart, she saw a boutique in her future. Now, she’s celebrating the opening of her new shop called Twice Blessed Boutique and Consignment.

It’s a consignment shop, a store that sells secondhand items for an original owner. The owner receives a percentage of the selling price.

Her pride is in her marriage, six grandchildren, and now, her own business she’s dreamed of opening. She wanted to find something she could do once her mom became sick.

She saw a hole in the market of Pell City where there were no children’s boutiques or consignment shops, which is why she decided to open a dual shop. She decided to name it Twice Blessed because she sees two blessings that are taking place in her shop.

“My motto is, if I can bless somebody with a couple of dollars, just to sell their items they’ve had hanging in their closet. On the other hand, bless this person who can’t afford brand new stuff to come in and buy it in my store for a fraction of the price,” said Isbell.

She said it doesn’t matter what brand, season or type of clothing people bring in. “Just bring it in,” she said.

She describes most of her stock as upscale clothing. The children’s clothes are all new and used, but all adult items will be used.

Isbell said she’s most looking forward to blessing people.

“I’m a bargain shopper myself, and it’s hard to find that anywhere. I know there’s people out here struggling that can’t buy school clothes at full price, so if I can let them come here and buy it for a fraction, I feel like I’ve done what the Lord has told me to do,” said Isbell.

She said most of all, she hopes people understand that everyone is welcome into her shop.
