Myra Grace Kershaw Golden

PELL CITY – Myra Grace Kershaw Golden, 91, passed away March 16, 2017 at St. Vincent’s/St. Clair Hospital. Preceding her in death were her husband of 54 years, Rev. Orville Golden; parents, Hugh and Almedia Kershaw; sister, Nancy Ellison, brother, Albert Kershaw; and granddaughter, Myra Ellen “Meg” Golden.

She is survived by her children, Bill (Sharon) Golden, Doug (Dorothy) Golden, Dean (Diane) Golden, Martha (Jerry) Watts, Van (Janet) Golden, and Mary (Danny) Rickman; ten grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce Stewart; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Mrs. Golden was an active member of Golden Grove Bible Methodist Church, where her late husband served as pastor for over 33 years. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmama. She had a servant’s hearts, exemplified by the dozens of people she cared for throughout her life. Time with family, holding the babies, reading, and quilting gave her special joy. She lived her faith even when life was tough, and all who knew her loved her.

The funeral service for Mrs. Golden will be held today, Thursday, March 23, 2017, 2 p.m.,. at Kilgroe Funeral Home – Pell City.
