The Pell City Line Dancers held a paint-in last week to help with the city’s Relay for Life fundraising.

Instructor Linda McCary from Gardendale — a cancer survivor — volunteered her time to teach two classes on how to paint a butterfly tapestry. This is the second year McCary taught the seminars, which drew many first-time painters. The cost was $35 with all proceeds going to Relay for Life, a program aimed at raising money for cancer research and a pursuit for a cure.

The classes were just the beginning of the line dancers’ fundraising. A sock hop dinner and dance will be held April 1 from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. at Celebrations off Hwy. 231. Advance tickets are $25 and tax deductable. Call 205-338-4203 for more information.
