Discover Italy, Greece and Turkey in Pell City
Take the trip of a lifetime without leaving Pell City. If you’ve always wanted to see the magnificence of Mt. Olympus or take a romantic glide through Venetian canals at sunset but haven’t been able to get away, Pell City Library has the solution.
On Wednesday, Oct. 21 at noon, join the library staff as those in attendance take a visual journey to Italy, Greece and Turkey to see the majestic countryside, and capture its old-world beauty.
In Greece and Turkey, tourists will travel in the steps of the Apostle Paul, tracing his missionary journey through ancient cities of the countryside. In Central Greece, the tour will visit the astounding rock towers, and the serenity of the monasteries with their Byzantine art and intricate architecture. There will also be a tour of the legendary castles on the Greek island of Corfu.
Once In Italy, the tour will explore the Italian resort towns of Lago Maggiore and Lake Como and see the islands of Venice. In addition to the visual journey, the program will feature special highlights from travelers to the. It will also offer samples of local cuisine, affording the virtual travelers the opportunity to get a taste of local flavors and delicacies.
The program is part of the Pell City Library’s ongoing Wild and Wonderful Wednesday series. Information regarding upcoming trips will be available in the library. There are trips planned to both Paris and London, and also to the Canadian Rockies and Glacier National Park. These trips both benefit the Pell City Library or the Pell City School System.
