Funeral services for Mrs. Olga Thorson, 87, of Ashville, were held Monday, March 24th at Pleasant Hill Methodist Church in Springville with Reverend Jerry Hasting officiating.

Interment was in St. Clair Memorial Gardens in Pell City.

Mrs. Thorson went to be with her Lord on Thursday, March 20, 2008. She was born on Friday, March 18, 1921 in Birmingham and lived the last 30 years in Ashville, Alabama.

She is survived by her loving husband, partner and friend of 69 years, Leroy Thorson of Ashville, Alabama; her beloved son, Leonard (Darlene) Thorson of Calera. In addition, she leaves behind to treasure her memory, her grandchildren, Debra (Anthony) Peel of Pelham, Tara Slater of Calera, Jim (Gena) Thorson of Birmingham, Greg Thorson of Calera, Darian Thorson of the U. S. Navy (stationed in Norfolk, Virginia); her great-grandchildren, Ashley Pell, Jason (Julie) Peel, David (Andrea) Peel, Kaytlyn Thorson, Zachary Thorson, Joshua Slater, Amber Slater, Justin Luna, Brittany Thorson; great-great-grandchildren, Devon Peel, Daniel Peel, Troy Johnson, Taylor Peel, Erin Peel, Lucy Nethery, Conner Nethery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Pleasant Hill Methodist Church in Springville, Alabama.

Usrey Funeral Home in Pell City directed the services.
