Leeds/Moody News: Business expansion continues

There’s a lot happening on the business front right now. You have probably seen all of the construction going on with the old car wash being torn down and the new one under construction. Melissa’s Rainbow Tunnel Car Wash is now open on Ashville Road in Leeds. Stop in and get a car wash.

A global fashion retailer, H&M Store, is expanding with a new store at the Outlet Shops of Grand River. The new store will be approximately 21,000 square feet and will carry clothing and accessories for women, men, teenagers and children. This Stockholm, Sweden-based Retailer is scheduled to open spring of 2017 as the second store in the Birmingham area.

Demolition has resumed at the old Trinity medical site for the new facility after being delayed while asbestos was abated.

Leeds Wal-Mart in undergoing renovation and many things are in a brand new place. It’s like going on a treasure hunt right now to find what you are looking for, but things will settle down as remodeling nears completion.

Also for businesses, it won’t be long before the new Jack’s restaurant will be on the Parkway in Leeds!

The Groundbreaking Ceremony for the new Doris Stanley Memorial Library in Moody took place last week. The new Library will be located at 300 Bookmark Circle, Moody, directly across from the Civic Center.

Kids Consignment Yard Sale is scheduled for this Saturday, Sept. 17 from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. at 760 Starlight Drive in Odenville. This consignment sale will carry all seasons of clothes from sizes newborn to 14/16. Moody Lions Club will meet at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 19 at White’s Chapel.

Moody Kiwanis Club is scheduled to meet at noon on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at Moody City Hall.

Springview Homeowner’s Association will meet at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at Moody City Hall.

Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce Corporate Ambassadors will host their monthly luncheon meeting at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at Leeds First United Methodist Church Family Life Center. Leeds Arts Council will present ENCORE: Musical Memories on Friday, Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 (please note date change). Tickets are $10. This is a yearly fundraiser put together by their play director Cliff Keen, Jr. for the Leeds Theatre and Arts Center.
