Open for business: Kyocera opens doors in Pell City

Kyocera Document Solutions had a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony on Aug. 3 in historic downtown Pell City.

“We’re happy with the remodel and glad to be in Pell City,” Ken Hartsock, president of Kyocera Alabama said. “We have a lot of customers in the Pell City and Talladega area.”

Kyocera was previously located in Talladega since purchasing Garring Business Machines in 2008. The Kyocera Group is a global company headquartered in Japan, supplying electronics as diverse as solar power generating systems, mobile phones, printers, copiers, printheads, LCDs, and electronic components. Kyocera Document Solutions focuses on copiers, printers, scanners, imaging software, and document management. The local office can also do repairs onsite if needed. 

“We are the only office of our kind in Pell City,” Branch Manager William Brooks said. “We do installation, service, maintenance, and have copier supplies in office. If we don’t have it, we can usually get it overnight.” William Brooks was the director of sales in the Birmingham location prior to his position as branch manager in Pell City. 

The Pell City office, located at 1706 Cogswell Ave., Pell City, is the fourth location in Alabama. Other offices are located in Birmingham, Dothan, and Montgomery.

“Kyocera has a very versatile R&D (research and development) department,” Andrew Gray from the Birmingham office said. “They also take employee feedback.”

The local office will be open to commercial as well as individual clients. Regular hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. and they can be reached at (256) 362-2538.
