St. Clair County 4-H Members Win Big at State 4-H Shotgun Championship

The 2016 Alabama State 4-H Shotgun Championship was held on April 8-9 at Red Eagle Skeet and Trap Club in Childersburg and Selwood Farms in Alpine. One hundred and seventeen juniors and seniors participated in this year’s championship. From St. Clair County, members who competed in the junior division include Austin Mays, Kyler Mays, Adam McNutt, Lance Sanderson and Andrew Workman. In the senior division, members included Cole Forbes, Ryan Moncus, Austin Pike, Bradley Swafford, Bradley Peoples and Allen Sanderson. The St. Clair County team coaches are Mike Sanderson, Joel McNutt and David Talley.

The St. Clair County junior team members who won the Overall Junior division as well as placing first in Skeet and Sporting Clays were Adam McNutt, Andrew Workman, Kyler Mays and Austin Mays. The junior team members who placed second in the Trap division were Adam McNutt, Andrew Workman, Austin Mays and Lance Sanderson. Adam McNutt was high individual overall and Andrew Workman was second high individual in the junior division. In the skeet division, Adam was first and Andrew was third high individual overall. Adam was second and Andrew was third high individual in the Trap and sporting clays divisions.
