Moody classroom stepping into the future after grant awarded
Heather Adams, a second-grade teacher at Moody Elementary School, recently won an equipment grant through We Are Teachers, which provides teachers with resources for their classrooms.
To qualify for the grant, Adams wrote an essay answering the question, “How do you inspire your students to become lifelong learners?” Her answer was chosen as a winner out of hundreds of submissions, earning Adams $200 to purchase geography games and a GeoSafari globe for her classroom.
The class was also awarded a Flip video camera, which Adams said she will use on an upcoming JSU inservice trip to Washington, D. C., where she will use it to record video of the monuments and historical sites to use in her classroom.
