Springfest this Saturday

The city of Springville is inviting its citizens and community out for a day of fun in the sun during their annual Springfest celebration Saturday from 2 to 10 p.m. at Elam Field, at the intersection of Highway 174 and County Road 11.

Throughout the day, the free event will showcase music from the Springville High School band, M-80, Good Morning Lucy, Blue Devils and others.

Food and carnival rides will be available for a fee, but many free activities for children and adults alike will be presented by local churches and businesses.

The day will end with a Jeff Otwell performance and a spectacular fireworks display.

“People can come out with their lawn chair and listen to music all day,” Mayor Butch Isley said. “We usually have anywhere from 4,000 to 8,000 people come out, so it’s usually pretty well attended and in this tough economy, we’re hoping to have a pretty good crowd.”
