Leeds/Moody News: Halloween in your town
October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month. Shelter dogs make great pets.
We adopted our little black poodle named Trouble around seven years ago and he is a precious pet. If you happen to be thinking of getting a new dog, do your research on what type of dog would fit in well with you and your family. If you happen to be a couch potato, you wouldn’t want a high-energy dog that needs plenty of action. If you have children, you would want a dog that gets along well with kids. Once you have made a decision on the breed, check out the local dog shelters to find a suitable pet.
Halloween is this Saturday and there are a lot of events going on all week long in the Leeds/Moody area to provide safe places for your kids to have fun and get lots of candy. Be sure to take your kids trick or treating in safe neighborhoods. Also, check your child’s candy before allowing him or her to indulge.

The Leeds Downtown Road Project continues and we are thrilled to see new pavement. With a generous donation of concrete from LeHigh Cement Company, Leeds will not only fix 7th Street, but will be able to concrete it just as they did on 9th Street. The work will include two blocks going from the Parkway all the way over to 2nd Avenue. 7th Street will be closed between Parkway and 2nd Avenue from Oct. 16 – Dec. 16 to complete these improvements.
