Drug trafficking arrest made in Pell City

The Pell City Police Department Officers and Narcotics Unit went to a residence on 20th Street North in Pell City after receiving information about someone distributing narcotics. 

On Nov. 29, officers arrested Lavonte Marquise Freeman for Trafficking, Probation Violation and possession of drug paraphernalia. Detectives recovered a large amount of the drug known as spice, prescription drugs, scales and bags to distribute it. 

“I am proud of our officers and their response to information about someone selling drugs in our community and especially someone who refuses to stop committing crime,” Pell City Police Chief Paul Irwin stated. “We appreciate all the communities’ assistance in reporting criminal activity and assisting us in identifying criminals.  The real rat poison in our community is people who are selling drugs because they are where it all begins.”
