Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, 1425 Mt. Moriah Rd., Pell City, will have a Christmas musical titled “Noel Born is the King” Sunday, Dec. 20 at 11 a.m.

It will be presented by the church choir which is under the direction of Mrs. Redena King. The church’s pianist, Landon King, is the accompanist for the choir. Everyone is invited.

Congratulations and happy anniversary to my cousins and friends Jerry and Berry Layton Willingham who will celebrate their 63rd Dec. 22.

Our prayers and condolences are with the family of Gene Lang of Coal City who passed away Dec. 3, 2020. Gene and his wife, Mary Frances Bice Lang, were both employed with Ursery Funeral Home, Coal City, for many years.

Both of them were loved and appreciated by many people of St. Clair County. They were among my dearest friends for many years. They were the parents of five children who survive, 3 daughters, Margaret, Wanda and Genella, 2 sons, Donald Lang and Danny Lang, several grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends.

He will be sadly missed by all of us who knew and loved him. Interment was in the St. Clair Memorial Gardens where his wife was buried.

A monumental event, the first of its kind in U.S. history, took place on Dec. 13, 2020. The shipment of the coronavirus vaccine arrived and was available to start the vaccinations. Our sincere thanks to the scientists and companies who produced the vaccine.
