Food and festivities fund a good cause: Love Feeds the Soul Luncheon tickets available now
The seventh annual Love Feeds the Soul Tablescapes Fundraiser Luncheon is coming soon, and tickets are still available for the event. In past years, hundreds have been in attendance at the luncheon, scheduled for Saturday, March 5 at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist in Pell City.
“It’s one of our favorite things all year,” Anne Day said. “I love to see all the people in town, and I can’t wait to see what others have on their tables. Everything about it is good.”
Smith said that seven years ago, Carla Cothran came up with the idea to host a benefit for both Lakeside Hospice and the Christian Love Pantry, and Love Feeds the Soul was born. The event now features dozens of brilliantly decorated tables that cover the floor of Beacon Hall at FUMC, with proceeds supporting the two nonprofit organizations.
Smith said attending the event supports community-centric causes, but it’s also worth it for the tables, each custom designed and ranging from “clean and simple” to “far out crazy.” Attendees vote on the tables they like best each year, and the winners go home with prizes.
Individual tickets are still available for the luncheon for $25 each. For $200, tables for eight are available. For more information, contact Christine Smith or at Lakeside Hospice at (205) 884-1111.
