All About Ashville

Way to go, Ashville Bulldogs. They earned a mention on AL.com for their military inspired uniforms worn in honor of a Vietnam Army squadron who called themselves the Bulldogs.

They were also victorious over a worthy opponent last week. The Bulldogs beat the St. Clair County Saints. The final score was 26-21 in what must have been a real nail biter. Friday night, they play Lincoln at home. Good luck, gentleman.

Last week, this column lamented the fire at the John Loony House. But the St. Clair County Historical Society is not giving up. Saturday, they had a meeting to discuss different fundraisers to salvage the historical landmark.

Much must be done. The amount of funds required is not yet known. But eager Ashvillians are ready to do their part to save this historical gem.

Go to the St. Clair County Historical Society website and order a Save The Looney House T shirt for only $15. Or send a check or money order to P.O. Box 262 Springville, AL 35146 to contribute to the cause and wear your commitment to the community.

Where there is a will, there’s a way and where there is help, there is hope.
