Birmingham man leads police on chase in St. Clair County

Margaret Police Department arrested Dekahlo Wilson, 20, of Birmingham on May 16 following a police chase and crash.

No one was harmed in the crash according to Police Chief Bryan Smith. The chase began after an attempted traffic stop, which Wilson tried to elude police. Wilson’s vehicle crashed in the 5700 block of Mary Munger Road.

Trussville Police, Trussville Fire and Rescue, Argo Police and Springville Police responded to the scene of the crash.

Wilson has been booked in the St. Clair County Jail and charged with criminal mischief second degree, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, distribution of marijuana, receiving stolen property fourth degree, attempting to elude, drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of marijuana, carrying a concealed weapon and obscuring the identity of a vehicle.

Bond was set at $42,500 and Wilson was bonded out May 17.
