Week Six: Ashville Previews and Highlights
Montevallo 58 Ashville 0
Montevallo’s emergence as an elite team in Class 4A football came at the expense of the Ashville Bulldogs, as Coach Andrew Zow’s team remained undefeated behind the arm of quarterback Zac Oden, who threw for four touchdowns in the second quarter alone, as Montevallo scored 31 of their 38 first half points in that quarter at Ken Logan Stadium last Friday. The loss was the third in a row for Ashville this season.
Week Six Preview @ Glencoe
Ashville will have its hands full this Friday when they go to play in Wilson-Darnell Stadium and try to find a way to stop quarterback Chase Wilson, whose strong arm allows him to hit many of Glencoe’s tempting targets, particularly wide receiver Pace Ozmint, sophomore wideout #1 Grayson Watkins, an outstanding young talent, and all-around superman Dalton Roberts, who plays multiple offensive skill positons and is the best athlete on Glencoe’s team. This week’s game film study by Ashville’s coaches will also reveal Glencoe’s Taylor Daugherty, a very powerful running back and middle linebacker.
