What’s Up in Odenville
Hello Readers! I’m back with this weeks edition of Whats Up in Odenville!
The weight loss struggle has begun by putting down the sodas and picking up the water. I use the word “struggle” because that’s exactly what it is. I use soda as my wake-me-up, my pick-me-up and and my all around go-to drink 24/7. Unfortunately, my waist line and my stomach are suffering the consequences so I have vowed to put them down. Not forever, mind you. Just for NOW. That’s the best I can do.
Let’s get to the news.

Correction: Last week’s article had Brody Anderson listed as Cody Alverson. I apologize for the error.
The Odenville Bass Club got a trifecta in the ASABFA State Qualifier Feb.10-11 at Lake Martin! The team took First Place in the tournament, Jacob George and Brody Anderson along with Boat Captain Scott Holmes took home First Place for Boat, and Jacob George won First Place for Big Fish. This is Jacob’s fifth Big Fish win and Brody’s first win for Boat. How did they decide to fish at a club level? “I’ve always loved to fish and fish competitively” states George. “I saw a team was being put together and wanted to try it” says Anderson. Their strategy for the win? “We spent two days practicing. The first day we spent at the lower end of the lake without any success” says George. “We tried fishing up river and caught some good fish and decided to stay with that” says Anderson. When asked about a future in fishing both Anderson and George stated they would like to continue fishing competitive in college and career. Both agreed the team has come a long way and are especially thankful to Coach David George, the boat captains and all the sponsors that make the club possible.
Cody Corbin and Kyle Burtram took home eighth place for Boat. The entire team placed in the Top 25 for each boat. These guys are on FIRE! Great job!!
