Clean up day held in Pell City

The Pell City High School football team is used to the heat, but they are usually running drills and practicing.

Saturday, May 12, they joined Pell City Mayor Bill Pruitt and local leaders to help clean up Pell City. With the assistance of the football team, 44 Autumn Blaze Maple trees were planted at Avondale and Lakeside Parks.

The team also put new mulch on the playground on 19th Street. Each year, Pruitt gathers volunteers for projects to help beautify and clean up Pell City.

“I am very proud of what we have accomplished,” Pruitt said. “And I would sincerely like to thank the Pell City High School football team for their time and effort.”
