Week 8: Springville highlights and previews

Hayden 32 Springville 7

Springville’s struggles with their regional schedule continued this past Friday, losing their fifth game in Region 6 this season at Hayden. The Wildcats scored on the opening play when Leonard Johnson blew past the Tigers’ defense on an 80-yard touchdown run. A touchdown run by Blake Adams and a Hayden fumble return for a score extended the Wildcats’ lead to 20-0 before Springville avoided the shutout with an eight-yard touchdown reception from Hunter Richardson to Terry Edwards at the end of the first half to get Springville its one score on the night.

Week 8 matchup: Springville (1-6) vs. Lincoln (1-6)

The Golden Bears showed that they are a team that has problems stopping offenses, and so far this year Lincoln has been surrendering 34 points per game to their opponents. Springville must find an offensive rhythm this Friday, while getting after Lincoln’s quarterback Zay Caldwell, a very capable quarterback who can lead a balanced attack.
