Honoring the toughest job with Moms Rock

Honoring moms who work their office hallways like the Paris runways or the moms who use the carpool lane as their time to work it, BirminghamMommy.com is celebrating all moms who rock!

In their third year putting on Moms Rock, founders Angie Cleland and Trish Bogdanchik who recently received top honors being voted Best Blog 2012 by Birmingham magazine, couldn’t be more proud of their rocking event.

“Moms Rock is an event we host each year to celebrate local Moms,” said Cleland. “Being a mom is tough and we just wanted to create a special night out to honor them.”

Teaming up with CBS 42’s Brooke Smith of Wake Up Alabama and B-Metro Magazine moms of all ages are invited to celebrate the many ways they manage to turn “mommy” into a verb.

Cleland and Bogdanchik crafted the concept of Moms Rock because they believe moms deserve to be recognized more than one day a year.

Last year 120 moms attended the event and this year these Birmingham mommies are looking to shatter previous records.

“We have moms that are advocates, single moms and moms who rock simply because they manage to handle the day-to-day tasks with style and grace,” Cleland said.

Next Thursday, March 7 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Cantina in Pepper Place, located at 2901 2nd Avenue South in downtown Birmingham, the third annual

BirminghamMommy.com Moms Rock event will rock on.

Receiving nominees over the last few weeks, last year’s Moms Rock event yielded 150,000 votes for the 10 finalists, which were then narrowed down to one grand-prize-winner.

“We have read some amazing submissions and always have a hard time narrowing it down to just 10 finalists,” said Cleland. “Every story touches us in some way. We are continually blown away by the positive response to this event and are looking forward to a fun night out honoring these wonderful women.”

Partnering with Magic Moments, an area organization making dreams of Alabama children come true, BirminghamMommy.com will also host an auction to raise money to grant a wish.

Looking forward to honoring those who inspire us every day, Cleland and crew can’t wait to see you at Cantina for a rocking good time
